Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Production Welder to perform in-house welding work for cutting-edge high-field superconducting magnets. The role involves welding and inspecting large metallic structures, setting up welding processes, and providing manufacturability feedback to design engineers.

Responsibilities

• Weld and inspect metallic structures
• Set up welding processes
• Read and analyze drawings
• Cut and join material
• Perform hand or semi-automated welding
• Provide manufacturability feedback
• Perform equipment qualification trials
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies
• Follow safety procedures

Requirements

• Documented Training/Certification in Blueprint Reading, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW
• 5+ years' welding experience on large structural systems
• Experience with large metallic structures
• Experience producing welds to industry standards
• Experience welding stainless steel
• Experience using GTAW process to weld copper
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
