Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a dynamic finance leader to serve as Corporate Controller, responsible for managing and overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, designing internal controls, and leading accounting operations. This role is critical for a company transitioning from pre-revenue to a commercial operating stage.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and prepare accurate financial statements
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Oversee cost accounting team and implement cost control measures
• Support internal management reporting and analysis
• Support investor diligence and reporting
• Grow and strengthen internal controls for SOX compliance
• Manage accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and accounts receivable
• Provide insight on process improvement and business planning
• Lead interactions with the Audit Committee
• Advise on technical accounting considerations
• Manage and develop the accounting team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Accountancy
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with publicly-traded companies and leading accounting teams
• CPA license (active status preferred)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC606
• Experience with multi-currency and segment consolidations
• Experience with tax preparation and filing
