Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Process Engineering Manager to lead a growing team specializing in the design of FLiBe systems for the ARC tokamak, the first machine to produce electricity from fusion energy. The role involves developing team infrastructure, prioritizing resources, developing best practices, reviewing technical documents, and acting as a technical authority on process engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop team infrastructure for common design process
• Prioritize resources across projects
• Develop best practices for molten salt process engineering
• Review technical documents and calculations
• Act as a link between the process engineering team and other groups
• Serve as technical authority on process engineering
• Support hazard identification and risk assessment
• Develop and maintain specifications for salt systems
• Provide component specifications and oversee vendor selection
• Identify and manage design risks

Requirements

• BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Nuclear Engineering
• 5+ years experience managing process engineering teams and projects
• 7+ years of experience in engineering of thermofluid and chemical processing systems
• Experience developing specifications for thermofluid components
• Experience with severe service working fluids
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Working knowledge of PIP, ASME standards
• Working knowledge of process and fluid simulation tools
