Job Description

The Shift Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the SPARC Tokamak and supporting systems, performing both Control Room monitoring and field operations, responding to alarms, and ensuring safe operating practices. This role supports commissioning, operational readiness, and steady-state operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain plant systems and equipment
• Troubleshoot systems including cooling water, compressed air, HVAC, and cryogenics
• Safely operate plant equipment remotely and locally
• Perform switching and tagging (LOTO)
• Participate in procedure development and revision
• Support testing and commissioning of plant systems
• Adhere to human performance and safety standards

Requirements

• High School Graduate/GED
• 5 years in operations at complex facilities
• Experience with electrical environments
• Previously qualified Lockout Tagout (LOTO) program
• Safety-conscious mindset
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a changing environment
