Job Description

The R&D Intern will support the TF R&D team at CFS-1 to de-risk SPARC TF magnet components by designing and building test stand components, conducting tests, and analyzing data to inform recommendations on magnet technology development. This is a 12-16 week internship with opportunities in Devens, MA.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers in building test stands and executing tests
• Obtain and analyze high quality data
• Design, build, and commission equipment and/or software
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, procurement, and SPARC teams
• Support design and test readiness reviews

Requirements

• Pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace, or Physics/Applied Physics
• Hands-on experience through research, projects, or internships
• Mechanical/electrical design, instrumentation, cryogenics experience is a plus
• Proficiency in Ansys, COMSOL, Python, or 3D CAD is a plus
• Exceptional results and strong troubleshooting skills
