Job Description

Forter is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to provide legal expertise and support, focusing on commercial transactions and data privacy. This role will involve leading aspects of the legal function, supporting sales and business teams in the Americas with contract drafting, review, negotiation, and compliance with data privacy laws. The position is based in New York and requires at least 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales, Business Development, and Customer Success organizations
• Negotiate commercial agreements, including privacy components
• Draft and negotiate agreements with vendors
• Advise on legal compliance, including data protection and privacy
• Advise on legal risk and escalate issues as appropriate
• Update contract templates and build internal processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of legal experience, 2+ years in a law firm with tech companies
• Accredited law degree from a top university
• Bar admission and current license
• Experience with complex legal agreements
• Experience with commercial technology transactions
• Experience with Sales and Executive teams
• Experience with privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR)
• Responsive and service-oriented attitude
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Creative problem-solving approach
• Fluent in English
