Job Description

The Director of Enterprise Data Platform will lead the data product development and engineering efforts driving the data infrastructure that powers internal data analytics at PitchBook. This role involves building and leading a team, ensuring platform robustness and scalability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable seamless data integration and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic vision and roadmap for the enterprise data platform
• Lead and mentor a team of data product managers and data engineers
• Oversee development of internal data products
• Oversee design and management of ETL/ELT pipelines
• Leverage cloud-based technologies
• Lead adoption of event streaming and messaging platforms
• Implement data governance, quality, security, and compliance
• Ensure data platform robustness and scalability
• Drive technical direction of data infrastructure
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business teams
• Oversee data systems integrity
• Drive innovation within the data platform
• Play a key role in hiring, training, and retaining engineering talent
• Establish a culture of belonging, psychological safety, and teamwork
• Apply Agile, Lean, and principles of fast flow

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering
• 7+ years in an engineering leadership role with direct management of 5+
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership role managing managers
• Strong leadership skills
• Expert-level skills in Python and SQL
• Deep understanding of cloud-based data platforms
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Experience with data architecture across distributed systems
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
