Job Description

PitchBook is seeking a Staff Software Architect to architect and deliver the next suite of services powering their platform. This role involves guiding technical teams, shaping principles, and building exceptional solutions for thousands of customers, requiring strong analytical skills, collaboration, and a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain components of PitchBook’s services
• Ensure qualities/non-functional requirements are defined and evaluated
• Document architecture evolutions and communicate with teams
• Implement testable and efficient code
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment
• Provide technical guidance and perform architectural reviews
• Design and deliver end-to-end initiatives
• Improve products using return on experience and root cause analysis
• Support company vision and values

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of experience in Software Development/Engineering (Bachelor's)
• 6+ years of experience in Software Development/Engineering (Master's)
• 3+ years of experience in Software Development/Engineering (PhD)
• 4+ years of experience with Java or similar
• 2+ years of experience developing microservices
• Experience with Service-Oriented & Microservices Architecture, Cloud Architecture, and Domain Driven Design
• Experience with RESTful API design
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP
• Experience with Spring Boot/Spring Framework
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with AI tools for productivity
• Agile environment experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• US work authorization
