Job Description

ParetoHealth is seeking an experienced VP of Renewal Underwriting to lead the renewal underwriting process for their growing portfolio of member companies. This role focuses on maintaining retention rates and ensuring clients have sustainable, long-term performance through strategic underwriting and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead renewal underwriting strategy development and execution
• Manage and mentor a team of renewal underwriters
• Partner with Customer Management and Finance for renewal recommendations
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of renewal calculations
• Serve as a thought leader on loss trends and risk scoring
• Refine and automate renewal tools and workflows
• Represent underwriting in renewal discussions with stakeholders
• Monitor book-level performance and recommend strategies

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of medical stop loss underwriting experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience in medical stop loss underwriting
• Strong understanding of medical trend analysis and self-insurance
• Proven leadership in a high-volume, high-growth environment
• Excellent analytical and Excel skills
• Clear communication and influencing skills
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
