Job Description

The Footwear Developer II utilizes technical product and process knowledge to work with a cross-functional team to deliver technical running footwear. This role requires hands-on experience in footwear construction, understanding manufacturing capabilities, problem-solving, and communicating engineering principles to enhance product performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of New Upper and New Tooling Projects
  • Manage projects from Insights to Commercialization
  • Deliver on Brooks Fit, Feel, Ride principles
  • Plan and execute project development to meet critical dates
  • Partner with vendors and factories to advance manufacturing techniques
  • Guide Design and Development teams for manufacturability
  • Critique and evaluate technical blueprints and patterns
  • Recommend materials and construction options
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Lead meetings during development phases
  • Collaborate with Research, Design, Marketing, and Costing teams
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base of vendor capabilities
  • Stay informed about market trends and consumer needs
  • Participate in Asia development trips

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomechanics, Engineering, Kinesiology, Design, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in technical running footwear development
  • Expertise in footwear product development, process, project management, costing, and manufacturing
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to anticipate the impact of decisions
