Job Description

Rover is seeking a talented Software Engineer to maintain and enhance its critical infrastructure, built on technologies like Amazon EKS, Terraform, and AWS. The role involves maintaining observability tooling and working within a Django codebase to ensure platform performance, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Improve availability, reliability, resiliency, and performance of Rover's application
• Design, implement, and maintain observability tooling
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize application performance
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Ensure security best practices

Requirements

• Computer Science background or equivalent
• 2+ years as a software developer (Django/Python preferred)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with AWS RDS (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Splunk, Sentry, Datadog is a plus
