Peerspace is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to serve as a technical leader, shaping the future of their data platform. This role involves architectural leadership, establishing best practices, and mentoring engineers to improve data literacy and technical capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Architecting and evolving core data infrastructure
• Defining data engineering best practices
• Partnering with engineering teams for data implementation
• Solving complex technical challenges
• Mentoring engineers and elevating data expertise

Requirements

• 8-12+ years in data or software engineering with technical leadership experience
• Expertise in cloud data platforms (GCP/BigQuery preferred)
• Mastery of data modeling and transformation frameworks (e.g., DBT)
• Deep architectural knowledge of data collection and ETL/ELT patterns
• Experience evaluating and integrating data technologies
• Ability to drive technical decisions and build consensus
• Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams
• Strategic mindset for long-term data system development
