Job Description

Muon Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze spacecraft mechanical systems, manage suppliers, and contribute to the full lifecycle of electromechanical products. This role requires a systems mindset, hands-on work, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine spacecraft mechanical designs
• Manage delivery of mechanical vehicles and subsystems
• Develop mechanical architectures
• Balance cost and capability
• Create quick concepts for team inspiration
• Perform stress and dynamic analyses
• Mature mechanical engineering standards
• Design test fixtures
• Influence flight designs for ease of build and test

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in flight hardware design/build/test (Space, Aero, Self Driving)
• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in structural/mechanical engineering
• CAD design skills
• Understanding of drawings, GTOLs, and BOMs
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Dedication to data-driven conclusions
