Job Description

Muon Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship in San Jose, CA. The intern will contribute to the full lifecycle of an electromechanical product, including structural data, dynamics, thermal design, and supplier management, with direct mentorship from aerospace professionals.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, build, and test spacecraft components
• Propose and iterate on mechanical component designs
• Write tests and monitoring to verify performance
• Conduct analysis for development and testing

Requirements

• CAD proficiency in Solidworks or similar
• Design of parts, assemblies, and basic drawings
• Creation of project notebooks and presentations
• Coursework in Design, Mechanics of Materials, Strength of Materials, Control Theory, Vibrations, Heat Transfer, or Finite Element Models
• Design portfolio of mechanical projects
