Job Description

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze spacecraft mechanical systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the product lifecycle. This role requires a hands-on approach with a focus on structural data, dynamics, thermal design, and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine spacecraft mechanical design
• Manage delivery of mechanical vehicles and subsystems
• Develop mechanical/structures architectures
• Balance cost and capability for scaled production
• Create quick concepts for team inspiration
• Perform stress and dynamic analyses
• Mature mechanical engineering standards
• Design test fixtures
• Influence flight designs for ease of build and test

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in flight hardware design/build/test (Space, Aero, Self Driving)
• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in structural/mechanical engineering
• CAD design skills
• Understanding of drawings, GTOLs, and BOMs
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Dedication to data-driven conclusions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
