Job Description

Muon Space is seeking an experienced Environmental Test Engineer to establish and maintain in-house environmental test capabilities for satellite hardware. This role involves hands-on work with test equipment, assisting engineering teams, and ensuring high-quality testing throughout the design and build processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead establishment of in-house environmental test capabilities
• Commission, evaluate, monitor, and maintain test equipment
• Assemble and troubleshoot supporting equipment
• Assist with structural testing of satellite components
• Instrument and test flight hardware
• Plan and commission test equipment build-out
• Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation
• Support rapid test turnarounds and hardware logistics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience with structural vibration/shock tests
• 3+ years experience with mechanical/structural/fluid/electrical systems
• Familiarity with test standards (GEVS, MIL-STD, NASA-STD)
• Experience with thermal vacuum and vacuum test equipment
• Experience in a fast-paced technical environment
• Ability to solve complex problems independently
• Experience with rigging, cranes, and lift operations
• Strong computer skills
