Job Description

PTI is seeking a computational scientist to lead the design and development of new computational analysis pipelines for mass spectrometry proteomics data, focusing on Alzheimer’s Disease or Immuno-Proteome Aging projects. The role involves working in a highly interdisciplinary team to infer biological mechanisms and disseminate discoveries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt pre-processing algorithms
• Define hypotheses and apply statistical frameworks
• Design and develop optimized analysis pipelines
• Perform detailed data analyses and communicate results
• Develop interactive data interpretation tools
• Curate large-scale datasets
• Mentor scientists and research associates
• Prepare reports and manuscripts
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Bioengineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Professional experience with single cell ‘omics questions
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning
• Advanced proficiency in R and/or Python
• Experience with data set alignment, batch correction, and cell type assignment
• Experience handling terabyte-scale biological data
• Experience with model validation techniques
