Job Description

PTI is seeking an experienced Mass Spectrometrist to maintain MS instruments, run samples for various projects, and advance hypothesis-driven experiments. The institute focuses on developing mass tags for multiplexed protein analysis to improve throughput and investigate disease mechanisms, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease and aging.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate, and maintain mass spectrometers
• Analyze experimental data and interpret results
• Train team members on instrument usage
• Design proteomic experiments
• Perform protein sample preparation
• Prepare lab reagents and media
• Manage inventory and prepare reagents/samples
• Communicate with purchasing and negotiate with vendors
• Manage MTAs, software licenses, and service contracts

Requirements

• Masters or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry
• 5+ years of experience maintaining mass spectrometers
• Experience optimizing LC-MS/MS methods for bottom-up proteomics
• Mastery of chemistry or molecular/cellular biology techniques
• Enthusiasm for bioanalytical chemistry
• Initiative, flexibility, communication, and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and time management skills
