Job Description

Seamless.AI is seeking a Database Performance Engineer to optimize database performance, scalability, reliability, and compliance across their high-traffic data systems. The role involves working with PostgreSQL and OpenSearch clusters to ensure seamless data flow, fast query times, and high availability, impacting system performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes
• Fine-tune PostgreSQL configurations
• Collaborate to resolve performance issues
• Manage and optimize database clusters
• Ensure database uptime and disaster recovery
• Set up and monitor performance metrics
• Conduct capacity planning and load testing
• Partner with Security and Compliance teams
• Develop and maintain database documentation
• Support query performance reviews
• Optimize integrations between relational and document-based systems
• Participate in incident response and postmortem analysis

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, DBA, or Performance Engineer with PostgreSQL
• Deep understanding of query planning and indexing
• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of SQL optimization and database partitioning
• Hands-on experience with performance profiling tools
• Proficiency in scripting or automation tools
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services
• Solid understanding of data security and compliance
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven experience managing large-scale production databases
• Strong collaboration skills
• U.S. work authorization
