Job Description

STR is seeking a summer intern to join the Video & Image Understanding (VIU) Group to develop and apply deep learning or reinforcement learning techniques to solve challenging problems in computer vision, situational awareness, and autonomous control. The intern will work with experienced staff and collaborate with researchers to develop practical machine learning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a project team with mentorship
• Adapt, extend, and optimize machine learning algorithms
• Collaborate with research engineers and academic researchers
• Evaluate and optimize machine learning performance

Requirements

• Enrollment in MS or PhD program in related technical discipline
• Track record of applying machine learning to computer vision or autonomy
• Strong academic record and research interest
• Experience in scientific software development with Python
• U.S. citizenship for security clearance
