Job Description

STR is seeking a Principal Software Architect to lead teams in developing and operationalizing advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for national security challenges. The role involves collaborating with engineers and researchers, interacting with customers, and architecting solutions impacting intelligence information globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead team in system infrastructure creation and maintenance
• Engage on new requirements and coordinate with subcontractors
• Understand stakeholders and create customer solutions
• Architect and implement technology integration
• Empower engineers with a unifying product vision
• Automate processes and optimize system performance
• Monitor system performance and mitigate issues
• Perform system testing

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
• BS, MS, PhD in a related field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years’ experience in software development
• Motivated collaborator with machine learning experience
• Aptitude for collaborating with stakeholders
• Experience with software maturity levels
• Proficiency with Python
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Working knowledge of Linux and SQL databases
