Job Description

STR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design, fabrication, integration, and testing of subsystems or payloads for unmanned platforms with emphasis on undersea sensors, payloads and vehicles. The role involves developing technical solutions for mechanical deployable payloads and vehicles, collaborating in testing, and providing communication to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions for mechanical deployable payloads and vehicles
• Collaborate in all stages of undersea systems testing
• Provide regular communication with internal leadership
• Design and implement testing methods
• Prepare and deliver briefings

Requirements

• BS with 5+ years relevant experience, MS with 3+ years, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
• Demonstrated background in design, modeling, fabrication, and validation of mechanical systems
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM design tools
• Proficiency in thermal modeling and finite element analysis
• Experience with materials and designs for harsh conditions
• Adherence to system engineering processes
