Job Description

STR is seeking a Lead Undersea Acoustic System Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced acoustic systems for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance applications. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, managing project lifecycles, and applying expertise in undersea system domains to deliver innovative prototype systems.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, and validate novel solutions to complex problems
• Lead conceptualization, analysis, design, and development of new undersea solutions
• Manage engineering teams through project lifecycles
• Oversee design reviews
• Evaluate and adopt cutting-edge tools
• Lead cross-disciplinary collaborations
• Communicate complex concepts to stakeholders
• Plan and lead laboratory evaluations and field tests

Requirements

• PhD + 2 years, MS with 5+ years, or BS with 7+ years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
• Expertise in developing undersea electro-mechanical systems
• Experience with undersea acoustics and sonar processing
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Proficiency in technical writing
• Skills in C/C++, Python, and/or MATLAB
