Job Description

Dataiku is seeking a Director, Legal to lead their Americas commercial legal team and support the company's growth. The role involves leading a team, negotiating agreements, providing legal guidance to go-to-market teams, and mitigating legal risks. This position reports to the VP, Deputy General Counsel and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of commercial legal attorneys
• Review and negotiate software license and SaaS agreements
• Provide guidance to go-to-market teams
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders
• Advise marketing on legal aspects
• Support procurement on vendor contracts
• Identify and mitigate legal risks
• Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments
• Develop and implement legal best practices
• Support intellectual property, privacy, and regulatory matters

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
• Active bar membership in a U.S. state
• 10+ years of experience in commercial legal roles
• Experience with software licensing and SaaS agreements
• Experience leading a legal team
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to provide business-oriented legal advice
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience supporting sales, marketing, and procurement
