Job Description

CGS is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to support a large federal agency, managing accounts payable, reimbursement activity, collections, and account oversight. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with various financial processes within the DOJ Office of the Comptroller.

Responsibilities

• Adjust payroll/labor transactions
• Process federal government travel
• Verify and analyze financial information
• Use electronic software and databases (UFMS, JEDI, SAFARI, E-2)
• Track expenditures
• Generate reconciliation reports
• Prepare financial reports
• Assist DOJ sections with UFMS transactions
• Compose memorandums and correspondence
• Manage office files and schedules
• Contribute to team efforts

Requirements

• Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field with 30 accounting credit hours
• Knowledge of accounting systems
• Experience with commitments, obligations, and interagency agreements
• Experience with quarterly review, accrual, and closeout processes
• Analytical and technical support skills
• US Citizenship
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
