Job Description

CGS is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst to support the legal mission of a large federal agency. This role involves processing FOIA requests, creating correspondence, and communicating negotiations, demonstrating expertise in FOIA regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and analyze FOIA requests
• Prepare FOIA request folders
• Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database
• Draft response letters and correspondence
• Communicate and negotiate with requesters and staff
• Coordinate document searches and identify duplicates
• Review records for responsiveness and release determinations
• Ensure released materials comply with exemptions

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience processing FOIA requests
• Knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations (b(4), b(5), b(6))
• Experience redacting records
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
