CGS is seeking a Law Clerk to support the legal mission of a large federal agency. The position involves litigation support tasks such as cite checking, document review, and legal research, offering an opportunity to contribute to government innovation and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research
• Prepare draft legal documents
• Review and research ROI
• Review new cases and research laws
• Edit final decisions and write legal opinions
• Edit and review cases for issuance
• Respond to citizen letters
• Review AMICUS briefs
• Brief attorneys on legal issues
• Assist attorneys with litigation
• Cite checking using Westlaw and Lexis

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school (completed at least one year)
• Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems
• Thorough knowledge of legal research tools (LEXIS and Westlaw)
• Extensive experience with cite checking and blue book
• Experience performing complex legal research
• Familiarity with computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging)
