Job Description

As a CGS Senior Paralegal, you will provide litigation and administrative support to a group of United States Attorneys, focusing on collecting restitutions and fines, drafting legal documents, and managing case materials. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and technical skills, with a commitment to quality work and government innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Collects court ordered restitutions and fines
  • Drafts and files legal documents
  • Prepares garnishments, liens, and subpoenas
  • Manages collection activity in a database
  • Conducts fact research
  • Prepares legal documents like motions and memoranda
  • Provides trial preparation assistance
  • Manages case files
  • Maintains calendars and schedules appointments
  • Assists with discovery production
  • Completes travel arrangements
  • Handles incoming and outgoing mail

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate, JD, or ABA-accredited law school enrollment (1+ year)
  • One year of legal training or experience
  • One year of litigation paralegal experience
  • Automated litigation support experience preferred
  • Basic legal knowledge and research skills (LEXIS, Westlaw)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets)
  • Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures
