Job Description

Trace3 is seeking a Data Center Technician to physically support and provide remote-hand services to customers. This is a contractor position requiring 100% onsite presence, involving infrastructure support, cabling, compute/network/storage assistance, asset management, and other related tasks to ensure smooth data center operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Support data center operations and projects
• Install and manage structured cabling
• Install, terminate, test, and label cross-connects
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs
• Identify and report problem devices
• Configure OOB management interfaces
• Provide a plan, unpack, and dispose of received items
• Input device locations into a database
• Maintain customer satisfaction
• Review work orders
• Develop documentation
• Shipping/loading dock management
• Escort vendors
• Perform crisis management
• Communicate with stakeholders
• Follow company best practices
• Mentor lower-level technicians

Requirements

• 1-3 years’ experience in a technical or data center support role
• High School diploma/GED
• CompTIA, A+, BICSI or similar certification preferred
• Understanding of the OSI model
• Good written and spoken English
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail
• Participation in on-call rotation
