Job Description

Hungryroot is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to support accounting close activities, weekly inventory and fulfillment reporting, and drive growth objectives. This role focuses on accurate financial reporting, operational decision-making, and improving inventory tracking and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Warehouse teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close activities related to inventory and fulfillment
• Track weekly COGS and fulfillment costs
• Maintain average costs of inventory
• Own accounting for landed costs
• Perform quarterly analysis of purchase price plus landed costs
• Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to validate inventory
• Provide insights on inventory levels and operational efficiency
• Support cycle counts and identify discrepancies
• Strengthen internal controls related to inventory
• Analyze inventory aging reports
• Participate in forecasting and budgeting
• Assist with audit requests
• Maintain process documentation and automate processes
• Build and present ad-hoc reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 3-5 years experience in finance/accounting
• 1+ years of Inventory accounting experience
• Strong accounting knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines
• Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
