Job Description

Pomelo is seeking a strategic attorney to join their Legal, Privacy and Compliance team as Senior Product and Privacy Counsel. This role will focus on providing legal guidance for product and AI initiatives, navigating healthcare AI and consumer technology regulations, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state privacy laws. The ideal candidate will be a key partner to cross-functional teams, contributing to the company's mission of delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance to product, engineering, clinical, and operations teams
• Mature responsible AI governance program
• Monitor and analyze AI regulations
• Advise on consumer-facing marketing materials
• Serve as a legal resource on privacy and data security matters
• Build and mature privacy program
• Ensure alignment with HIPAA and state consumer privacy laws

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school with active U.S. bar membership
• 7+ years of legal experience in health tech or digital health
• Experience advising on product development
• Experience counseling on AI/ML products and services
• Strong familiarity with U.S. privacy laws (HIPAA, state consumer privacy laws)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative team player
