Job Description

The Area Manager is a people-first leader responsible for managing and developing a team in fulfillment centers, driving process improvement, maintaining safety, tracking performance, and fostering employee engagement. This role involves exposure to various departments and shifts to contribute to operational and cultural excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of 30+ warehouse associates
• Review work forecasts and identify productivity requirements
• Balance labor with other Area Managers
• Report on operational metrics (VCPO, UPH, OPH, SLAs, Injury Rate)
• Train teams on processes and procedures
• Develop Lead talent
• Foster employee engagement
• Approve associate timecards
• Handle escalated issues
• Support safety programs and OSHA compliance
• Supervise daily workflows

Requirements

• 2+ years of people management and operational leadership in a high-volume 3PL fulfillment environment
• Experience in ecommerce, retail, or manufacturing preferred
• Ability to manage performance, deliver feedback, and develop talent
• Solid computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI, TMS systems)
• Strong analytical skills and KPI tracking experience
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Willingness to work rotating/non-traditional shifts
