Job Description

ShipBob is seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee day-to-day transportation operations, manage relationships with carriers, and ensure efficient delivery schedules. This role focuses on optimizing routes, training teams, enforcing safety regulations, and contributing to a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily delivery schedules and optimize routes
• Work with carriers for timely and cost-effective transportation
• Train teams on processes and procedures
• Enforce safety regulations
• Oversee yard operations and trailer logistics
• Monitor forecasted volumes and carrier capacity
• Investigate and resolve operational issues
• Review and approve associate timecards
• Supervise workflows and ensure product handling compliance

Requirements

• 1+ years of people management in a high-volume 3PL environment
• 2-3 years’ experience in Transportation and final mile carriers
• Knowledge of loading techniques and space utilization
• Solid computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI)
• Understanding of DOT and TDR Regulations
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
