Workato is seeking a product-minded Principal Software Engineer to join their San Francisco team, focusing on building the next generation of developer products for LLM and Agentic applications. This role involves shaping the future of developer interaction with Workato's ecosystem in the age of AI, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and intuitive services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain developer-facing products and APIs
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Implement and improve validation, monitoring, and observability
• Drive the full development lifecycle
• Evaluate and optimize implementations for performance and usability
• Identify and resolve technical challenges
• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members
• Stay at the cutting edge of AI and developer tooling

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Product-minded with a focus on developer experience
• Experience building developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, CLIs)
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript and LLM models
• Solid understanding of API design and software architecture
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Adaptable and proactive in a dynamic environment
