Job Description

Workato is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join their Global Core Infrastructure team. This role involves designing, scaling, and securing the systems powering their automation platform, collaborating with US and international teams, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of their distributed cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain global cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with US engineering teams
• Patch and optimize open-source components
• Develop low-level internal services
• Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes
• Write and maintain Kubernetes manifests
• Improve CI/CD pipelines
• Tune Linux systems
• Build internal tools
• Participate in architecture reviews and incident response
• Coordinate cross-team projects
• Collaborate with management
• Tech Leader role for a group of engineers
• Support professional growth of other engineers

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure or systems engineering
• Expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
• Strong understanding of Linux internals
• Experience operating infrastructure on AWS
• Proficiency with Terraform and Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of network and cloud security
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers
• Experience working as a technical leader
