Job Description

SoundCloud is seeking a Senior Director to lead Product Counsel, Legal Operations (including Trust & Safety, and Copyright) teams. This role will shape product strategy, platform governance, and operational excellence across a global creator and fan platform, ensuring a safe, compliant, and rights-respecting ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor teams across Product Counsel and Legal Operations
• Serve as a senior legal partner to Product, Engineering, and executive leadership
• Support international rollout of SoundCloud Go/Go+
• Provide high-level legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle
• Oversee privacy-by-design initiatives and compliance documentation
• Ensure adherence to third-party platform requirements
• Oversee platform safety policies and enforcement frameworks
• Manage Trust and Safety and copyright enforcement processes
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design trust & safety systems

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of legal experience
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams at scale
• Deep expertise in technology law, privacy, and regulatory environments
• Proven success in building and maturing teams and operational processes
• Leadership in designing and scaling Trust & Safety frameworks
• Extensive experience partnering cross-functionally
• Understanding of copyright law
• Skilled at influencing executives and setting organizational direction
• Experience managing outside counsel
