Job Description

Xometry is seeking a Senior Application Engineer specializing in CNC machining to handle client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC machining cost estimation and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering models/drawings to define manufacturing operations
• Estimate costs considering materials, tooling, times, and equipment
• Collaborate with Machinists, Quality, Engineering, and Management
• Source materials and finishes
• Estimate CNC machining costs for various quantities
• Review RFQs to determine material requirements and job routing
• Communicate with customers to define requirements
• Work with vendors to achieve optimal prices
• Consolidate costs and create detailed quote packages
• Manage quote logs and track KPIs

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in CNC machining quoting
• Proficiency in CAD
• Experience with multiple axis milling, turning, welding, grinding, EDM
• Knowledge of CNC machine programming and setup
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Understanding of manufacturing protocols and technologies
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• DFM analysis skills
• Strong communication and organizational skills
