Job Description

Xometry is seeking a Senior Application Engineer specializing in CNC Machining. This role focuses on client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and ensuring timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess 8-10 years of experience in CNC machining quoting, strong CAD proficiency, and a comprehensive understanding of various machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering models/drawings to define manufacturing operations
• Estimate costs considering materials, tooling, and manufacturing times
• Collaborate with Machinists, Quality, Engineering, and Management
• Source materials and finishes
• Estimate CNC machining costs for various quantities
• Review RFQs to determine material requirements
• Communicate with customers to define requirements
• Work with vendors to achieve optimal pricing
• Consolidate costs and create detailed quote packages
• Manage quote logs and track KPIs

Requirements

• Multitude of CNC machining/manufacturing technologies knowledge
• Experience with CNC machine programming and setup (3/4/5 axis milling, lathes)
• Knowledge of welding, grinding, wire EDM, assemblies, finishing
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge
• Understanding of protocols, standards, and machining applications
• Ability to interrogate solid models and drawings
• Ability to manipulate/modify solid models
• Technical support to machinists and process engineers
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
