Job Description

Xometry is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to serve as customer-facing Technical Account Managers, embedded within strategic accounts to act as an extension of their engineering teams. This role blends customer engagement, technical expertise, and operational execution, reporting to Operations while collaborating with Sales to drive growth and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and technical expert for enterprise accounts
  • Conduct weekly onsite visits to build relationships and understand customer needs
  • Collaborate on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize projects
  • Proactively identify and address manufacturing challenges
  • Ensure orders are directed to qualified manufacturers
  • Conduct on-site audits of manufacturing partners
  • Manage projects to completion, overseeing production and delivery
  • Handle communications, order changes, and escalations
  • Partner with Sales to drive account growth and retention
  • Identify opportunities to expand Xometry's services
  • Provide technical support during the sales process
  • Gather customer insights and feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, product development, and project management
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM principles
  • Experience in CNC Machining, Tube Bending, Composites, or 3D printing is preferred
  • Proficiency in Solidworks
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
