Xometry is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead their Generative AI efforts, applying cutting-edge AI research to real-world manufacturing problems involving multimodal document understanding, data extraction, and reasoning across various data types. This role involves shaping the AI roadmap, building and deploying advanced models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Generative AI team
• Shape AI roadmap
• Develop and deploy large language and generative models
• Combine text, images, and 3D data
• Create data pipelines and training workflows
• Deploy models in the cloud
• Collaborate with engineers, product leaders, and business teams
• Mentor and guide teammates
• Stay updated with latest AI research

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning or data science
• Expertise in generative models, LLMs, or computer vision
• Experience with large-scale language and vision models
• Hands-on experience with multimodal data
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries
• Solid grounding in probability, statistics, and optimization
• Experience deploying ML models using cloud microservice architecture
• Strong software engineering skills
• Effective communication skills
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
