Xometry is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead their Generative AI efforts, applying cutting-edge AI research to real-world manufacturing problems involving multimodal document understanding, data extraction, and reasoning across various data types. This role involves shaping the AI roadmap, building and deploying models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Generative AI team
• Shape AI roadmap and identify opportunities
• Develop and deploy large language and generative models
• Combine text, images, and 3D data
• Create data pipelines and training workflows
• Deploy models in the cloud using AWS
• Collaborate with engineers, product leaders, and business teams
• Mentor and guide teammates
• Stay updated with latest AI research

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning or data science
• Expertise in generative models, LLMs, or computer vision
• Experience with large-scale language and vision models
• Hands-on experience with multimodal data
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries
• Solid grounding in probability, statistics, and optimization
• Experience deploying ML models using cloud microservice architecture
• Strong software engineering skills
• Effective communication skills
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
